City Council Deliberation
The Torino City Council has approved the proposal of adding a new article in the city regulations, article 44, “Protection of rest, health and preservation of the quality of life of the citizens in specific areas of the city where there is a considerable flow of people”. The proposal has been promoted by the City Councillor for Trade, Tourism and by the City Councillor for Police and Security. In specific areas of the city, San Salvario included, there are restrictive limitations in terms of opening hours and selling take-away, alcoholic drinks. From 4th July to 30th November 2018, from 9pm to 6am there is a consumption ban of alcoholic drinks in glass or aluminium containers in public places.
Mayor order nr. 46
This document collects data and information about the Movida in several areas of the city, describing in details the problems related to noise nuisance, public safety, neglect, mainly because of the high alcohol consumption and of the big availability of bars and 24h supermarkets selling alcohol at cheap prices.
The data and information reported have been collected by several corporations working in the territory, among others, the police and the Regional Environmental Agency. The order is an alcohol ban: from 9th June 2017 to 30th September 2017 in specific areas of the city (San Salvario included) shops, supermarkets, restaurants, discos and bars have to stop selling alcohol from 8pm to 6am.
Mayor order nr. 60
The preconditions of this order are the same as the one mentioned in order nr. 46. To avoid noise nuisance, safety and security problems, it is forbidden to serve food and alcohol in the food court outside restaurants, bars and in shops from 1am to 6 am, from 8th July to 30th September 2017. In the same time frame, it is also forbidden to drink alcohol in glass or aluminium containers in public spaces.
